Notification types
Match Point sends four categories of notifications. You can enable or disable each one independently, and choose whether to receive it in the app, by email, or both.Match reminders
Reminders fire twice for every scheduled match: 24 hours before and 1 hour before start time. They include the opponent names, court or venue, and a link to the match page. These are especially useful for clubs with many casual players who do not check schedules daily.Score submission requests
After a match ends, Match Point prompts the assigned score reporter to enter the final score. If the score is not submitted within 30 minutes, a follow-up notification is sent. This keeps rankings and brackets accurate without manual chasing.Tournament bracket updates
Whenever a tournament bracket advances (a winner is decided, a bye is resolved, or a final is scheduled), subscribers receive an update. This is helpful for spectators and eliminated players who still want to follow the competition.Registration confirmations
When a player or team completes registration for a tournament or league, the organizer receives a confirmation with the entrant details. Players also receive a confirmation so they know their spot is reserved.Configure notification preferences
1
Open notification settings
Click Account in the top navigation bar, then select Notifications from the left sidebar.
2
Choose a notification type
Click the row for Match Reminders, Score Requests, Bracket Updates, or Registration Confirmations to expand its options.
3
Set delivery channels
Toggle In-App and Email for that type. In-app notifications appear in the bell icon at the top of every page. Email notifications are sent to the address on your account.
4
Adjust timing if available
For match reminders, you can customize the lead times. Use the 24 Hours Before and 1 Hour Before toggles, or change the hours in the dropdown if your club prefers a different window.
5
Save your preferences
Click Save Changes at the bottom of the page. A green confirmation banner appears when the update is applied.
In-app vs. email delivery
- In-app notifications are best for administrators who use Match Point daily. They collect in the notification bell and do not clutter your inbox.
- Email notifications are better for players who log in infrequently, or for critical alerts like registration confirmations that you may want to forward to a finance or operations team.
