Player profiles are the foundation of every match and tournament in Match Point. Each profile stores a player’s name, contact details, sport preferences, and current rating. Keeping profiles accurate ensures that rankings update correctly and that invitations and notifications reach the right people.
Add a New Player
Go to Players
Open the Players section from the main navigation sidebar.
Click Add Player
Select the Add Player button in the top-right corner of the player list.
Enter name, email, and sport
Fill in the player’s full name, email address, and primary sport. The email is used for login invites and match notifications.
Set initial rating (optional)
If the player already has a known skill level, enter an initial Elo rating. Leave this blank to start from the default baseline.
Save and send invite
Click Save. Match Point creates the profile and sends the player an email invitation to set their password and access their dashboard.
Edit a Player Profile
To update a player’s details, open their profile from the player list and click Edit. You can change their name, email, sport, or rating at any time. Changes to the email address will trigger a new verification link. Rating edits are recorded in the profile activity log so you can audit manual adjustments later.
Archive or Restore Profiles
When a player leaves your club or becomes inactive, archive their profile instead of deleting it. Archiving preserves match history and rankings data while removing the player from active rosters and leaderboards. To archive, open the profile, click the menu in the top-right, and select Archive. You can restore an archived player later from the Archived tab on the Players page.
You can bulk import players using a CSV file. Go to Players > Import, upload a file with columns for name, email, sport, and optional rating, and Match Point will create all profiles in one batch.
