How the Ranking System Works
Each player starts with a default baseline rating, or an admin-assigned initial rating if one was set during profile creation. After every completed match, Match Point recalculates both players’ ratings using the standard Elo formula. The size of the change depends on three factors:- Result: wins add points, losses subtract points
- Opponent rating: beating a stronger opponent yields a larger gain
- K-factor: a sensitivity constant that controls how quickly ratings respond to new results
View the Rankings Leaderboard
Open the Rankings page from the main navigation to see the current leaderboard. The default view shows all active players sorted by rating within your club’s primary sport. Use the filters at the top to narrow the list:- Sport: switch between tennis, pickleball, badminton, or any other sport configured for your club
- Division: limit results to a specific competitive tier or league
- Time range: view all-time ratings or only results from the last month, quarter, or season
Filter and Search Rankings
Use the search bar to find a specific player by name. Combine filters to answer questions like “Who is the top-rated doubles player in Division B this quarter?” The leaderboard updates in real time as match results are entered.Manually Adjust a Player’s Rating
Admins can override a player’s calculated rating when needed, such as when a strong player transfers in from another club. Open the player’s profile, click Edit, and change the rating field. The new value takes effect immediately and will be used as the baseline for the next match calculation.Ratings only update from Completed matches. Matches that are scheduled, in progress, or cancelled do not affect player ratings. Make sure to mark match results promptly so the leaderboard stays current.
