# Create and Manage Teams in Match Point

> Build doubles or team-sport rosters, assign a captain, and track team standings based on averaged member ratings in Match Point.

Teams in Match Point let you group players into doubles pairings or full team-sport rosters. Once created, a team can be registered for tournaments, assigned to matches, and tracked on its own leaderboard. Team ratings are derived from the active members, so roster changes affect standings automatically.

## Team Rankings

Match Point calculates a team rating by averaging the current Elo ratings of all active members. This average is used to seed teams in tournaments and to sort team leaderboards. When a member's individual rating changes after a match, the team rating updates automatically. Adding or removing members also recalculates the average immediately.

## Update or Disband a Team

To edit a team, open its profile and click **Edit**. You can rename the team, swap members, or change the captain at any time. If a team is no longer active, use **Disband** from the team menu. Disbanding preserves the team's match history but removes it from active leaderboards and future tournament registration lists. You can reactivate a disbanded team later if needed.
