Player availability is the final constraint that Match Point checks when placing a match on the calendar. Players set recurring weekly windows that tell the system when they are free to compete. Admins can view all of these windows together in a single grid, making it easy to spot the time slots where the most participants overlap and to schedule matches with minimal back-and-forth.

How Availability Works

Each player defines their own weekly schedule by selecting days and time ranges they are generally free. These are not one-off entries for specific dates; they are repeating patterns that describe typical availability. For example, a player might mark weekday evenings from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM and Saturday mornings from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM. When you create a match and select participants, Match Point compares the proposed time against every player’s availability windows. If the time falls outside any player’s window, the system flags a conflict so you can adjust before confirming.

Set Your Weekly Availability

Players can update their availability from their personal dashboard:
  1. Open My Availability from the sidebar.
  2. Select a day of the week.
  3. Add one or more time ranges, such as 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM.
  4. Repeat for each day you are typically free.
  5. Save the schedule. Changes take effect immediately for future match proposals.
Admins can also edit a player’s availability on their behalf from the player’s profile page.

View the Combined Availability Grid

Admins see a club-wide grid that layers every active player’s windows together. Darker or denser areas show times when more players are free. This makes it easy to identify popular slots for league nights, round-robin sessions, or tournament blocks. Click any cell in the grid to see exactly which players are available at that time.

Let Match Point Suggest Optimal Times

When you create a match and select participants but leave the time field open, Match Point suggests the best available slots based on overlapping availability. The suggestions are ranked by how many players can attend and how well the slot fits your venue’s operating hours. You can accept a suggestion, tweak the time, or pick a different court and let the system recalculate.
Google Calendar sync is coming soon. Once released, players will be able to connect their calendar so that real-time conflicts, such as work meetings or personal events, automatically narrow their availability without manual updates.
